In response to the Poetry 101 Rehab with the word prompt MISSING
Coffee and old libraries scent
Sometimes I miss words
going down on my knees.
Sometimes I miss sun
covered by heavy clouds.
Sometimes I miss your smile
when your eyes are wet by tears.
Sometimes I miss ideas
when challenges are crossing my life.
But I’m always missing the scent
of morning coffee mixed with the old libraries.
Lovely words. I miss the old libraries, myself. I practically lived in them for years.
Thanks a lot Lizl! I had my great library before I moved from Europe (more than 500 titles) and I miss it a lot. Also loved to spend my time at the old library in my birth town. After the library has moved to a new building it was so different and I missed something… I missed the scent and the old rooms.
Just love that last line “morning coffee mixed with the old libraries.” Thank you for contributing to the ‘Rehab”
Thank you, Andy. It was my pleasure to contribute. Have a peaceful rest of your weekend.
Thank you, and likewise.
